In development · Coming to Steam
Take everything.
Escape anyway.
A five-minute descent into a hand-painted maze. Kill what moves, crack every chest, and reach the gate before the maze turns on you — die, and you carry out nothing at all.
01 — The game
A race against your own greed.
Maze X Monsters is a first-person maze survival roguelite — a dark, hand-painted adventure-horror played one five-minute run at a time.
Score comes from what you take and from the seconds left when you escape, so every detour is a gamble. Built in Godot, coming to Steam.
02 — A run
Five minutes
Five minutes, start to finish.
- 01
Pay to enter
Every run starts at the Camp and costs Gold. Buy a weapon, buy a perk, toss the dice for one more.
- 02
Beat the clock
Five minutes. The timer is the pressure, and it is the whole game.
- 03
Kill what moves
Monsters you can read at a glance — strong silhouettes, telegraphed attacks.
- 04
Open the chests
Gold, materials and recipes. Some chests are not chests.
- 05
Find the Gates of Stars
The way out — and it pays you for every second you had left.
03 — The chain
Six in a row
A run is a session. The chain is the game.
Reach the gate and you get a choice: go home and bank everything, or descend again into a maze you have not walked.
Six biomes, never repeated inside a chain — each one a different way to be hunted rather than a change of wallpaper. Every link is more crowded than the last.
Your goal is to path all 6 mazes in a chain without returning back to the camp. You need to be ready for this, have weapons unlocked, recipes found, perks equipped — or try your luck!
04 — See it move
Gameplay footage is coming.
There is no trailer yet. When there is one it will sit here, and on the YouTube channel.
Screenshots are being retaken from live play rather than from the old capture tools — the ones that were here did not show the game as it is now.
05 — Music
First single
out now
An original soundtrack.
Fantasy folk by DIMSTONE, written alongside the game. The first single, The Maze Walker — the theme that plays at the Camp — is out now on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music.
06 — Follow along
Not finished. Getting there.
Maze X Monsters is in active development by a one-person studio. Wishlisting on Steam is the single most useful thing you can do for it — it is what decides whether the game gets seen at launch.
